ASN
A country's national sporting authority, recognised by the FIA. It grants licences and permits and issues the HTP and HRCP vehicle documents.
An ASN (Autorité Sportive Nationale) is a country's national sporting authority as recognised by the FIA. It implements the International Sporting Code nationally, permits events, issues licences to drivers and officials and maintains the national regulations.
For classic motor sport one role stands out: the ASN issues the vehicle documents to FIA specifications – the HTP for international historic competition and the HRCP for historic regularity rallies – and carries out the technical inspections required for them.
Well-known ASNs are Auto Sport Schweiz, the DMSB in Germany, ACI Sport in Italy, the FFSA in France, Motorsport UK and the RFEdA in Spain. The ASN should not be confused with the ANF, the national FIVA authority that issues the FIVA ID-Card – in Switzerland, for example, the SHVF.
