FIVA

The Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens, the worldwide federation of historic vehicles founded in 1966. It protects and promotes motoring heritage and is a non-governmental partner of UNESCO.

FIVA stands for Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens, the international federation of historic vehicles. Founded in 1966, it unites national federations and clubs from more than 70 countries and represents millions of enthusiasts worldwide. Its aim is the protection, preservation and safe use of historic vehicles as technical and cultural heritage – captured in its slogan 'Yesterday's Vehicles on Tomorrow's Roads'. FIVA is a non-governmental partner of UNESCO and works through six specialised commissions (including Technical, Legislation, Events, and Culture & Youth). It defines a historic vehicle as a mechanically powered road vehicle at least 30 years old, kept in historically correct condition and not used for daily transport, and a youngtimer as a vehicle 20 to 29 years old. Through its national authorities (ANFs), FIVA issues the FIVA ID-Card, the internationally recognised passport for historic vehicles.
