Bol-pijl
A Dutch-Belgian navigation system: at each junction a dot ('bol') marks your position and an arrow ('pijl') shows the direction to take. Read from left to right.
Bol-pijl (also 'bolletje-pijltje') is a navigation system widespread in the Netherlands and Belgium for orientation and regularity runs. Each junction is given a symbol: a filled dot ('bol') marks where you come from or are, and an arrow ('pijl') shows which exit to take. The symbols are worked through in order from left to right. Roads not to be taken are sometimes shown with a blunt line (no arrowhead). The system resembles the tulip diagram but is more schematic.
