Pressostato

A pressure-sensitive tube laid across the road that, in Italian regolarità events, detects the front wheels passing over it and triggers the timing. Alternative: a photocell.

A pressostato is a pressure-sensitive tube (pneumatic tube) laid across the road at Italian regolarità events. When the car's front wheels pass over it, the pressure sensor triggers the timing device connected to a printing chronometer. The pressostato is thus the Italian counterpart to the pneumatic tube test; photocells (fotocellule) are permitted as an alternative. For monitoring, the signal is often also recorded manually.
