Pneumatic tube test

A regularity test whose timing is triggered by driving over pneumatic tubes – similar to the light barrier test, but via the wheels.

The pneumatic tube test (German Schlauchprüfung) resembles the light barrier test but is triggered differently: timing starts and ends when the cars drive over pneumatic tubes laid across the road at the beginning and end of the test. Unlike the light barrier, which triggers at bumper height, the tube reacts to the wheels. As with any regularity test (GLP), scoring is based on keeping to the target time.
