FIA board
The standardised boards marking a control: the yellow board as advance warning about 20 m before, and the red board at the control point itself.
The FIA boards are standardised signs that mark a control. About 20 metres before the control stands the yellow board as an advance warning; at the control itself follows the red board, where the entry is made on the control card and – depending on the type of control – the start time is given. Between the yellow and red boards, where 'free check-in' applies, a crew may pull up early and wait for its time. The colour coding is internationally uniform and comes from the FIA regulations.
