Average Speed Trial
A scored test in which a section must be driven at a prescribed, as-constant-as-possible average speed. Regularity is scored – not hitting a single target time as in the Zeit-/Sollzeitprüfung.
A regularity test (German: Gleichmässigkeitsprüfung, GLP) is a scored task on classic-car and regularity rallies in which a defined section must be covered in an exactly prescribed time. Unlike a fastest-time stage, what counts is not speed but consistency: scoring is based on the deviation from the prescribed target time (Sollzeit) or from the average speed to be held. Timing is often done with a hidden time control, a light barrier or a pressure-hose check, and every deviation earns penalty points.
