Wanderpause

German term for the break during an Oldtimerwandern. Small, often fun tasks may be set. Abbreviated WP – not to be confused with the Wertungsprüfung (scored test).

Wanderpause is a German term from the Oldtimerwandern and denotes a scheduled break during the leisurely outing. It is meant for rest and sociability, and participants are often set small, usually amusing tasks. The abbreviation WP is ambiguous: it can stand for Wanderpause or for Wertungsprüfung (scored test) – here the context, or the type of event, decides. At sporting rallies WP means the scored test; at an Oldtimerwandern it means the Wanderpause.
