Competitor Relations Officer
An official (abbreviated CRO) who mediates between the rally direction and the crews and advises entrants on questions of rules and regulations. Known in German as the Fahrerverbindungsmann.
The Competitor Relations Officer (CRO) mediates between the rally direction (Fahrtleitung) and the crews at a classic-car event. He or she is the first point of contact for entrants on questions of rules, regulations and procedure, and passes concerns or complaints on to the direction. This takes pressure off the organisation and helps the event run smoothly and fairly. In German the role is called Fahrerverbindungsmann (literally 'driver liaison man').
