Südsteiermark-Classic

Since 2001, the Südsteiermark Classic has been regarded as one of Austria's most outstanding classic car rallies, combining nostalgia, sporting spirit, conviviality and fine food in a unique way. The start and finish are in Gamlitz, in the heart of the southern Styrian vineyards. Every year, well over 200 crews apply for the coveted starting places. When allocating places, the event gives preference to cars built before 1950, making it Austria's number one for pre-war classics. Target times and average speeds are matched to the year of manufacture. Over three days, participants travel over the Rechberg to the Teichalm, through the Vulkanland and finally through the spectacular vineyards. The highlight is the Welsch-Grand-Prix in Gamlitz. GPS regularity tests and special stages on closed roads decide the class and overall winners.
