Rallye Dresden Dakar Banjul
The Rally Dresden-Dakar-Banjul is one of Europe's best-known low-budget adventure rallies: over 7,000 kilometres across seven countries, from Dresden through Europe and North Africa all the way to Banjul, Gambia. Organised by the non-profit Breitengrad e.V., the challenge has been held twice a year since 2006 – in February/March and October/November. Unlike the professional Dakar Rally, this event is built for everyday adventurers: moderate entry fees, deliberately low vehicle requirements and a demanding yet achievable route. Motorcyclists are also welcome. At its heart is a charitable mission: upon arrival in Banjul, the vehicles are auctioned off, with proceeds going to Gambian schools, hospitals and aid projects. 19 days of desert, Atlantic coast and lived solidarity.
