Rallye Dresden Dakar Banjul

The Rallye Dresden-Dakar-Banjul is one of Europe's best-known low-budget adventure rallies: more than 7,000 kilometres through seven countries, from Dresden across Europe and North Africa to Banjul in Gambia. Organised by the association Breitengrad e.V., the challenge has been held twice a year since 2006 – in February/March and October/November. Unlike the professional Dakar Rally, the focus here is on adventure for everyone: moderate entry fees, deliberately low vehicle requirements and a demanding but manageable route. Motorcyclists are also welcome. At its heart is a charitable idea: at the finish in Banjul, the vehicles are auctioned and the proceeds go to Gambian schools, hospitals and aid projects. 19 days of desert, Atlantic coast and solidarity in action – a unique rally experience.
