The Hunsrück-Auto-Club Simmern e.V. im ADAC (HAC) was founded on 20 November 1962 – growing out of a group of passionate car enthusiasts who drove drag races together at Hahn airfield in the late 1950s. Today, HAC is one of the most active motorsport clubs in the Hunsrück. More than 40 children and young people train in kart slalom – at a facility built specially for the purpose. Those who have outgrown karts move on to automobile slalom or the Schinderhannes-Classic, a popular classic car regularity rally. The programme is complemented by the Hunsrück-Historic Classic, the Walkenbach Cup and a lively club life with a club championship and an annual celebration. Motorsport for young and old – that is HAC Simmern.
